Money never made a man happy. ~ Benjamin Franklin

We eat with a fork, spoon, chopsticks or hands. Do we eat money? Do we eat nickels and dimes or dollar bills? We eat what money buys unless we generate an agricultural product that we may eat.
Therefore, we have to remember our strategic plan should not be merely to increase our bottom line or profit margin or net take home pay. It should also include happiness. Sometimes we figure this out before it is too late. Sometimes we figure it out when there is time to prepare and attain a bucket list. Sometimes we figure it out when we have someone to be happy with.
Nonetheless, we need money. Not to buy happiness but to buy the necessities of life. Yes, yes, yes. As we amass more wealth, our necessities increase. What were wants become needs. As we acquire a four car garage: we need four cars to fill the empty slots. As we have a large yard, we need shrubs, trees, planters, lawns, feng shui fountains, and we succumb to consumerism. If we do not, it is because we do not have a sufficiently large bank balance.
If the 1-5% with 99% of the gross income took some more time to smell the roses and thought about the remaining global 95-99%, we might be in a better situation. I am not a socialist. I do not choose to expound my political views in this blog. I am conservative, and believe that all budgets should be balanced: personal, business, non-profit, charity and government.
